Welcome to Middle School Science!
My name is Mr. Dowd and I teach 7th and 8th grade science for the school year 2019/2020. Please see the materials list and make sure you are prepared every day. I will post expectations and information that pertains to you as you successfully navigate your way through middle school science this year. Within a couple of weeks, check our blogs for updated information as it pertains to middle school. This is going to be a great year for you!
The CPS vision statement is cool!
In young people, a high-quality education develops not only strong academic skills, but also a love of learning (Ray’s Vision too!), the ability to work with others, the motivation to take initiative, the experience to solve problems creatively, the knowledge to live healthy lives, and the desire to become active citizens in their communities.
Current grades are posted weekly to communicate progress to students and parents/guardians on Parent Portal (https://parent.cps.k12.il.us ). My classroom blog includes links to homework assignments, assignment due dates, and a variety of other helpful information.
8th grade parent meeting September 26th Thursday at 4:30pm.
